Privacy policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
SKI is made by Nexbillion Labs Private Limited, Anpamattathil Building, Kolenchery PO, Ernakulam 683562, Kerala, India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what SKI collects, why, who else handles it, and your choices. Questions: [email protected].
The short version
- We keep your email, your sign-ins, how many credits you used and when, and your payments.
- We don't record or store your voice. It passes through our server to our cloud AI provider to be understood and answered, and is gone after that.
- Your projects, code and chats stay on your Mac. Your coding agents (Claude Code, Codex and others) talk to their own providers under your own accounts, not through us.
- SKI records how it's used (counts and timings — never your words, code or files) to get better. You can switch that off in SKI → Settings → General.
- We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
What we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Account: your email and how you sign in (Google or an email link) | To give you an account and sign you in |
| Sign-ins: each Mac you're signed in on — its name, SKI version, when it was last used | So you can see and sign out your Macs; sign-ins expire after 90 days without use |
| Credits and usage: what used credits (voice, Process transcript, chat titles), when, how many, and the chat's title, so you can see usage per chat | To charge credits correctly, show you your usage, and run the service (costs, abuse) |
| Activity: the days you opened SKI signed in | To count active users |
| Usage analytics (on unless you switch it off — below) | To see which features and agents are used and what goes wrong, so we can improve SKI |
| Payments: what you bought, when, how much, refunds, and the email used (from Lemon Squeezy) | Billing, support, taxes and accounting |
| Preferences: whether you want product emails | To respect your choice |
| Messages: which messages from the SKI team you've read | So each shows once |
| Referrals and gift codes: who invited you (by their invite link), the rewards each of you got, and the gift codes you used | To give the credits a referral or a code earns, and to stop abuse |
| Website waiting list: the email you leave on justski.it for Windows and Linux | To tell you when SKI is out for your system |
We do not collect your card details (Lemon Squeezy handles them), and SKI has no advertising trackers.
Usage analytics
SKI records how it's used, so we can see what works and fix what doesn't:
- What: which screens and features you use and how often (for example: voice on or off, the voice mode, which coding agent ran a request, how long it took and whether it worked, push-to-talk and shortcuts, settings you changed — the setting's name, and its value only when it is an on/off switch, a number or a fixed choice); how long SKI was running, the Hub was open and you were talking; the onboarding steps and permissions; errors (where and what kind); your Mac's macOS version, chip type and SKI version; a random id for this copy of SKI.
- Where you stop in a flow — which steps of a task you reached (for example: a question shown → answered, a pull request form opened → created → merged, Create opened → a chat made or cancelled), so we can fix the flow of the user experience; with each event, how many chats were working, how many projects you have open, how many days since you installed SKI and the voice mode — counts and fixed names only.
- Never: what you say or type, your prompts, your agents' replies, code, file or folder names, project, repository or chat names, screenshots, or the content of an error message.
- Linked to your account when you're signed in, so we can see how people use SKI over time (before sign-in, only to the random id).
- Where: our cloud project in the USA. Kept up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Switch it off: SKI → Settings → General → Share usage data. SKI records that you switched it off, then sends nothing more. We still know that your account is active from what our server needs to run SKI (your sign-ins, voice use and credits — above).
What passes through, and isn't kept
When you use SKI's voice, these go through our server to our cloud AI provider (see Who else handles your data) to be understood and answered in real time:
- what you say;
- the context SKI gives the voice so it can help: your recent chat messages and your agents' replies, project and session names, and a screenshot when you ask SKI to look at your screen.
Process transcript and chat titles send the text involved to the same provider. The experimental One voice for all chats (off by default) also uses them to pick the chat for each voice request: it sends your request, the last lines of the voice conversation, a short description of each chat (its name and what it is about) and the notes of the chats you work on — SKI's own summaries of what each chat did, the files it changed, and its last requests and replies. The experimental Catch missed sends (off by default) sends, after a voice turn where you spoke, the words of that turn, the voice conversation since your last request and the requests SKI sent to that chat in the last few hours — to check whether the voice promised to pass something on and didn't. When you ask the voice to continue in another coding agent and name a model or an effort level ("continue in Codex with 6 Luna"), SKI sends your last few words, the names of the coding agents on your Mac (whether each is installed and signed in) and their model lists — to tell which model you meant. No files, code or chat content are sent for this.
We don't store this audio, text or screenshots on our servers. We use paid APIs whose terms don't allow using the data to train their models.
The website
justski.it counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics — no cookies, no tracking across sites, no profile of you; only totals such as pages viewed, referring sites and countries. The Windows & Linux waiting list keeps the email and the systems you pick there (and a one-way scrambled form of your network address, to stop abuse), and nothing else; a Cloudflare check (Turnstile) keeps bots out of the form. We don't email you because you joined — only once SKI is out for Windows or Linux. Email [email protected] to be removed.
When you report a problem
SKI → Settings → Help → Report a problem (also the notch's menu, ⌘K, or Report on an error in a chat) sends us what you write and, only as you choose in the form: files you add (the picture of SKI's own window it offers, screenshots, anything else), SKI's recent errors, and the chat's conversation. It always adds your SKI and macOS versions, the Mac's model and which agents you have with their versions — never your other chats, your project's files or your accounts' keys. The form shows everything before it's sent, and masks keys and passwords it recognises. We keep a report to answer it and fix the problem; signed in, it's deleted with your account. Signed out, we keep the email you typed to reply.
When you request a feature
SKI → Settings → Help → Request a feature (also ⌘K, or the line under What's new) sends us what you write, the files you add, and the same details about SKI, macOS, the Mac and your agents. Only the SKI team sees it. We keep it while we consider it and may write to you in SKI or by email about it; signed in, it's deleted with your account.
On your Mac
SKI keeps your projects list, chats, settings and screenshots on your Mac (in the .ski folder of your home folder), and your sign-in in the macOS Keychain. They never leave your Mac except as described above (a report sends only what you choose). Deleting SKI's folder removes them.
Who else handles your data
| Who | For |
|---|---|
| Google Cloud (USA) | Our server, database and usage analytics (region us-central1) |
| Google Firebase | Sign-in (Google sign-in and email links) |
| Google (Gemini API and Vertex AI) | Our cloud AI provider: voice in real time, and the text features above (not stored by us) |
| Lemon Squeezy | Payments, taxes, receipts, as merchant of record |
| Cloudflare | Our domain, the website and its visit counts (no cookies), the bot check on the website's forms, and app downloads |
| Google Workspace | Our email (sign-in links, account emails, your emails to us) |
Your data is stored and processed in the USA, as well as in India.
How long we keep it
- Your account, credits and usage: while you have an account.
- Payment records: as long as needed for payment questions, taxes and the law — also after you delete your account (with the email used).
- Sign-ins: until you sign out, or 90 days without use.
- Problem reports: until we've dealt with them, at most 12 months; with your account, they go when you delete it.
- Feature requests: while we consider them, at most 12 months; with your account, they go when you delete it.
- The website's waiting list: until we've told you SKI is out for your system, at most 24 months, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Usage analytics: up to 24 months. After you delete your account, the remaining usage records are tied only to an id that no longer leads to you.
Deleting your account
SKI → Settings → Account → Delete account. It signs you out everywhere, cancels Pro if you have it, and deletes your account, sign-ins, messages and remaining credits. We keep the payment records (with the email used) for payment questions and taxes, the usage records without your name or email, for our own accounting, and that email was deleted — so a new account with it doesn't earn new-user referral credits again. You can also email [email protected] to ask.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other laws that apply to you, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and withdraw consent (by deleting your account). Email [email protected] — we reply within 30 days.
Grievance Officer: Nexbillion Labs Private Limited, Anpamattathil Building, Kolenchery PO, Ernakulam 683562, Kerala, India — [email protected].
Emails
We email you for your account: sign-in links, low credits, payments. Product emails (news about SKI) can be turned off in SKI → Settings → Account.
Age
SKI is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS / TLS). Sign-in tokens are stored hashed on our side and in the macOS Keychain on yours. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in SKI or by email before it takes effect.
